The agenda

Mornings are for the work we can only do in one room. Afternoons drift outside — anything marked with a little sun is decidedly not work.

Who’s running this thing

Your hosts

Mariana Alves

People Ops · Ringleader

Owns the run-of-show, the seating charts, and the emergency snack drawer. If anything is broken, missing, or on fire — find Mariana.

Rui Baptista

CEO

Opens Wednesday, closes Friday. Has promised exactly one spreadsheet joke and an honest retro with no slides.

Priya Raman

Head of Product

Runs the roadmap deep-dive on the four bets. Bring your spiciest question — she has asked for them by name.

Tomás Costa

Engineering · Resident Lisboeta

Grew up two hills over. Curates the nata crawl with alarming rigor and knows which miradouro is worth the climb.

Home for three days

Casa Miradouro

An 18th-century merchant’s house on a quiet miradouro in Alfama, restored into an event home: azulejo-tiled halls, a terrace with the whole Tejo laid out below, and a lemon-tree courtyard where most of the eating happens. Everything is a five-minute walk from our hotel — uphill, obviously. This is Lisbon.

  • Terrace Hall · seats 70
  • 3 breakout rooms
  • Lemon courtyard
  • River view

Practical things

24°

Weather

September is Lisbon showing off: ~24 °C days, 17 °C after dark, rain unlikely. The sun is honest — sunscreen is not optional.

Dress code

Summer casual, all three days. Pack one “slightly nice” outfit in case your Thursday dinner-lottery group draws somewhere fancy.

What to pack

Real walking shoes — seven hills, all cobbled — a layer for evenings, a type-F EU adapter, and a swimsuit in case the bonfire wins below.

Getting there

Fly into LIS by Tuesday evening. It’s a 20-minute taxi to the hotel — expense it. We’ve block-booked Hotel do Castelo, five minutes from the blue gate.

Expenses

Flights via TravelPerk by 1 November. All meals during the summit are on us; incidentals up to €40/day — receipts in Expensify within a week, please.

One channel

#summit-lisbon is the single source of truth — schedule changes, lost keys, dinner-lottery results. Mute everything else for three days.

Small FAQ

Can I bring a partner or friend?

Sessions and group meals are team-only, but Thursday’s free-roam dinner and the Friday afternoon are yours — plus-ones very welcome then. Lisbon is a good excuse for a long weekend together.

I have dietary requirements — are they handled?

Yes. The catering form went out in the calendar invite — fill it in by 5 September and every meal, nata crawl included, will have a proper option for you. Vegan, halal, gluten-free, and “no cilantro, ever” are all already on the list.

Can I stay the weekend after?

Please do. The hotel honours our room rate through Sunday night — extend directly with them and cover the extra nights yourself. About a third of the company did this last year and regretted nothing.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Only if you’re demoing on Friday: one slide, five minutes, no speaker notes long enough to rustle. Everyone else just needs opinions for the roadmap session and an appetite.

Laptops?

Bring one, use it sparingly. Mornings are heads-up; there’s a quiet room (the Library) if something at work genuinely catches fire. We’ll survive three days.
